First Tear Drop

I was always wondering

About my purpose for living

A life to seize a prize

But all I do is sacrifice

 

I have thrown away my desires

For the sake of people’s cries

I never cared if I was hurt

By all their promises and lies

 

I was naïve so long ago

Yet today was just the same

You vowed to be my law

But became my only flaw

 

I did not know how to cry

Or why birds were meant to fly

I was braver than a knight

who never runs in fright

 

I didn’t cry when I got hurt

While playing my favorite sport

Nor when my parents estranged

And found myself deranged

 

But my tears began to flow

The moment you bestow

Your heart I thought was mine

To someone very close by

 

My heart got torn apart

As the secret has gone out

You chose her over me

So please let me be

 

Even if I cry a river so deep

And never wake up from my sleep

Even if I wait for you forever

My life won’t last any longer

 

Let my heart be retained

Let my love be restrained

Cause if your heart desires her so

I’ll fall back and let you go
